Victoria Wareham is a British-Australian multidisciplinary artist, academic and curator based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia practicing on the unceded lands of the Turrbal and Jagera Nations. With a background in sculpture and video production, Victoria’s practice moves between two- and three-dimensional space to facilitate a radical, post-humanist vision of future screen-based ecologies.

Victoria has exhibited work in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia and has undertaken residencies and solo exhibitions at the Banff Centre for Art and Creativity, Canada; Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne; Metro Arts, Brisbane; The Lock Up Cultural Centre, Newcastle and The Centre for Drawing, London. In 2021, she completed her PhD at the Queensland College of Art and holds a Masters degree from the University of the Arts London. In 2018, she was awarded funding courtesy of the Peter MacKendrick Endowment Fund for Visual Artists (Canada) and was longlisted for the 2019 Aesthetica Art Prize.

In addition to her moving image practice, Victoria is a film programmer and curator and has contributed to major international art events including the Venice Biennale, Tate Triennial and Asia Pacific Triennial as well as national and international journal publications, film festivals and academic conferences such as the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand (AAANZ) Impact Conference.

As a mother with two young children, Victoria passionately advocates for parents in the arts and actively subscribes to new and unconventional pathways for practice-led research post-partum.
