The Walls Shall Have Eyes 2020

The Walls Shall Have Eyes is a series of black paintings that comment on the architectural properties of the screen and its increased presence as a mysterious black object that is assimilated into our daily environments. Created with an ultra-pigmented, light-absorbing black paint that functions in a manner similar to Vantablack, the work is destabilising; the dimensions are familiar, but their inability to host the screen-based image forces the viewer to re-examine the material nature of the screen and our acceptance of it into our daily lives.
